This was mid trimming and putting together some HRT's. I want to point out that Melanie has a special ruler that you can purchase to trim your half rectangle triangles aka HRTs. I love using it ... I had to flip my ruler upside down though because I could not train my brain to trim over my left hand with my right hand... I just couldn't make good cuts that way. My hand kept turning it and rolling the cut in a weird way. I flipped it upside down and I can do it... not sure if anyone else has that problem. <p></p><p style="text-align: center;">Watch her tutorials on her YouTube channel...links to her videos and channel to subscribe to on YouTube are on her site. I'm planning to make a couple more SugarBears, one a Christmas which I will use a solid color background and one a Ghastlie fall which will be again a scrappy background. The solid background will be much easier I'm sure. I had to make sure that I had a variety of low volumes for each set of the star points because I want to be sure that there's not a ton of one kind of low volume fabric in one block. Also, I have to try to keep the border pieces unique and spread evenly throughout the quilt so that there is a uniform scrappiness that doesn't look too contrived.<p></p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWGgquDPJDB7dDyUA69vwCAHe-NnSnHz1BHRvbH67jrk9mK3hNXQnwxkK1IADvpMP38f7X8DjZs6EIaK14c28Ow5OallIiJeOn-NRgd01HPhTveRtOrf9pXBIaWvAHA2NAs2GxcSw3Jw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWGgquDPJDB7dDyUA69vwCAHe-NnSnHz1BHRvbH67jrk9mK3hNXQnwxkK1IADvpMP38f7X8DjZs6EIaK14c28Ow5OallIiJeOn-NRgd01HPhTveRtOrf9pXBIaWvAHA2NAs2GxcSw3Jw/w640-h640/image.png" width="640" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">I did want to use eyelet in my backgrounds too... Let me tell ya what, 100% cotton eyelet fabric is expensive for one, and hard to find for two...that is so odd as I feel like it used to be pretty easy to find years ago. At any rate I wanted an offwhite... not stark white eyelet and I couldn't find that locally, so I got creative and hand tea-dyed using some old earl grey whole leaf tea steeped for a couple minutes, and just plunging the eyelet in. It came out lovely and I even grabbed a few pieces of regular cotton low volumes that had a bright white background and dunked those as well. It changes the whole mood of your low volumes. I'm thinking of trying it on some super bright prints that I have and see if it tones them down sufficiently. That whole process was so fun! I have two types of eyelet and you can see them in the block below.</p><p style="text-align: center;">This block is Cristina</p><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgu9tnMYv5KfuM65RTMpiopiH2NuBP2E10oI8n5ajrKvf5ms4qHU4T_QQZbPTh9YGO6tdKJQeCUIMNed1sO-pmT9mfWl5CTHnrMJZU9KPASnwSiatsisVEny8XttG64SuXbw9xG08YA/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgu9tnMYv5KfuM65RTMpiopiH2NuBP2E10oI8n5ajrKvf5ms4qHU4T_QQZbPTh9YGO6tdKJQeCUIMNed1sO-pmT9mfWl5CTHnrMJZU9KPASnwSiatsisVEny8XttG64SuXbw9xG08YA/w640-h640/image.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />Get your pattern at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/southerncharmquilts/" target="_blank">@southerncharmquilts</a> and join us on this quilt along! <p></p><p style="text-align: center;">Happy SugarBear Quilting! </p><p style="text-align: center;"> xoxo, ande</p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5528096085067297176.post-16031415308612165882021-01-03T20:44:00.000-06:002021-01-03T20:44:03.448-06:00new years wishes<p style="text-align: center;"> </p><p style="text-align: center;">Hoping we all have a better, healthy and prosperous new year! </p><p style="text-align: center;">happy 2021 ♥</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlzxq5992aW7ZEFsLjlbZev0ZIzaT_2Bt5pYotGGivdMNewpUkyfDkGbeYBUIdHKDDcuXZh87NEKgcMdBVrnLZ60jD3lB4qNHs9OkqdDLc8dLzB5Oi8rkyvM4ezJvamLg7QZn8UvJq8Q/s595/pony.bunnies.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="595" data-original-width="592" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlzxq5992aW7ZEFsLjlbZev0ZIzaT_2Bt5pYotGGivdMNewpUkyfDkGbeYBUIdHKDDcuXZh87NEKgcMdBVrnLZ60jD3lB4qNHs9OkqdDLc8dLzB5Oi8rkyvM4ezJvamLg7QZn8UvJq8Q/w636-h640/pony.bunnies.JPG" width="636" /></a></div><span> </span><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/andes_heirlooms/" target="_blank">@andes_heirlooms</a></div><p style="text-align: center;"> <i> xoxo, ande</i></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5528096085067297176.post-52118334076035301062020-12-18T07:25:00.001-06:002020-12-18T07:26:17.500-06:00CHRISTMAS WISHES <p style="text-align: center;"> </p><p style="text-align: center;">MERRY CHRISTMAS</p><p style="text-align: center;">from Andrea's Heirlooms</p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg0Ap-0i2NqjxdViuv2K0X3PsxWUdne9YgCR3FsbaxNJPfGyRRH9YFZ0XH5NbQnFz-IZ93C3OD7wq8VaLS71PYubvmzY5CcYF713gC0s_U-z_SWZkXMrBxEWfZcZ-BAEU57FoewbFj2w/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg0Ap-0i2NqjxdViuv2K0X3PsxWUdne9YgCR3FsbaxNJPfGyRRH9YFZ0XH5NbQnFz-IZ93C3OD7wq8VaLS71PYubvmzY5CcYF713gC0s_U-z_SWZkXMrBxEWfZcZ-BAEU57FoewbFj2w/w640-h640/image.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Hope everyone has a healthy, safe and happy holiday! </div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">Love this little Christmas wreath via <a href="https://www.instagram.com/gigiandolive_/" target="_blank">@gigiandolive</a> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wizzandwild/" target="_blank">@wizzandwild</a></p><p style="text-align: center;">One thing I've always loved is hiking through the forests hunting for gorgeous greenery and foliage for handmade wreaths, garlands and decorations all around the house. I took the ability to do that for granted when I lived in the country and had access to lots of area to roam. Now that we live in the city its actually not easy to find a place where its allowed, which is why for a few years I found that the only way to get fresh greenery sprigs and branches was to pay high prices at the nursery for bundles. Although I end up with the general decor feel of the fresh greenery I am very much missing the hikes in the wild. It seems there is nothing better than a good jaunt through the woods to cure all that ails! The peace and quiet is so necessary. I think a drive to the countryside and trail hunting is in our future... I'll have my trusty snips in pocket just in case a beautiful branch of berries comes into view.</p><p style="text-align: center;">HAPPY NEW YEAR!</p><p style="text-align: center;"> <i>peace, ande</i></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5528096085067297176.post-75786721442035335592020-10-31T09:06:00.001-05:002020-11-06T06:23:16.012-06:00QUILTING | my mermaid, bad girl quilt<p style="text-align: center;">Recapping some quilting success from throughout the year....</p><p style="text-align: center;"> I should definitely catch up on posting this wonderful pattern from Melanie <a href="https://southerncharmquilts.com/blog/" target="_blank">@southerncharmquilts</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_FVrSs6gyZpi2_zCATb2E5YYntTw1Eb0yFn0gX9jQFkRDVXOi27odHzmDxAn52ej1pWXQDSVk01Ca-6c533BVLDsrRy-Xcv0hvaRZy2LhV5TYeuaQXC6fUlDrepwdGeSoTHso1eGNRw/s2048/IMG_20201016_122840429_HDR.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_FVrSs6gyZpi2_zCATb2E5YYntTw1Eb0yFn0gX9jQFkRDVXOi27odHzmDxAn52ej1pWXQDSVk01Ca-6c533BVLDsrRy-Xcv0hvaRZy2LhV5TYeuaQXC6fUlDrepwdGeSoTHso1eGNRw/w480-h640/IMG_20201016_122840429_HDR.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I learned so much! I have been holding onto these small tidbits {only had fat quarters} for just the perfect project. I came across my inspiration for a beach/mermaid quilt from one of the super talented quilters that I follow on Instagram, Suzanne <a href="https://www.instagram.com/suelovesthesea/" target="_blank">@suelovesthesea</a>. She had created a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/littlemisssawtoothqal/" target="_blank">#littlemisssawtoothquilt</a> using various mermaid fabrics. I began collecting mermaid fabrics soon after and put them in the pile with my bali fat quarters. Then I stumbled across a fantastic mermaid collection in deep, dark navy blues and my idea for my mermaid bad girl quilt began.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">But, I have to say that my execution of the color transition is not perfect! Like I said, I learned alot while creating this quilt and I now realize just how hard it is to carry this type of color transition off. Another one of my favorite quilters on Insta is Laura <a href="https://www.instagram.com/llinkshwk/" target="_blank">@llinkshwk</a>. She has this technique down to perfection! Check out some of her beautiful creations.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGpSOEzLgA4ysWtz91jjFQE9CYlimD1A1_N0mwSYJd5ASo4Z1E392javFrJf6FYeCFvNRg_LINsVp4Zh03FadCzwkMwUhaouDQxGiMfzpuUNURLlT35-TKp6qe10X7ftfv8w8ioCUFNg/s594/1.mbgq.2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="588" data-original-width="594" height="634" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGpSOEzLgA4ysWtz91jjFQE9CYlimD1A1_N0mwSYJd5ASo4Z1E392javFrJf6FYeCFvNRg_LINsVp4Zh03FadCzwkMwUhaouDQxGiMfzpuUNURLlT35-TKp6qe10X7ftfv8w8ioCUFNg/w640-h634/1.mbgq.2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Back to how much FUN making this quilt was....</div><div style="text-align: center;">At first I was super intimated by the star points for this quilt. As with learning any new technique I was really nervous about cutting into my fabrics that I've been hoarding like a crazy person for almost 20 years and messing up! Like talk about devastating! haaa...this is how you know you have a fabric addiction. So anyway I finally decided earlier this year it was time to just get over it and start. I soon figured out that Melanie's pattern was great... that I could just relax and follow her instructions and everything would be not just ok, but awesome! Each block made me so happy!</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2SIkFdh_VYWIlz3YJjr3eDWcJRUac2ME8yUWGkr1orO90halbqX_VwJukaMdjnoVJOmflVSnaaOFmO0LSJVpWtrVv_SfSs2b8KzefbyBiXNeoOveM3Rdbacjv-zcII2MBM2sG2AwVPA/s595/1.mbgq.3.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="595" data-original-width="595" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2SIkFdh_VYWIlz3YJjr3eDWcJRUac2ME8yUWGkr1orO90halbqX_VwJukaMdjnoVJOmflVSnaaOFmO0LSJVpWtrVv_SfSs2b8KzefbyBiXNeoOveM3Rdbacjv-zcII2MBM2sG2AwVPA/w640-h640/1.mbgq.3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">During the first months of lock-down this creation process was great. I did vary off of her pattern for this process because I just was not good at sewing the blades down in a straight manner. <br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Making this Little Miss Sawtooth quilt is addicting!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've made three now and am tempted to start a fourth. I love this pattern by Melanie <a href="https://www.instagram.com/southerncharmquilts/" target="_blank">@southerncharmquilts</a>. It's a great pattern for every level of quilter.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also loved using low volume fabrics for the background and using scrappy fabrics from my stash.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For my LMS, I used a mixture of fabrics that I talk more about on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/andes_heirlooms/" target="_blank">@andes_heirlooms</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I have four quilts to hand-quilt now. The first I'm almost through with is my husbands T-shirt quilt (that's a whole other post). The second, my Bunny Hill applique quilt; third, my Little Miss Sawtooth; and fourth, the LMS I made for Mom. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello all, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm happily joining in with another quilt along but this time I know I won't be able to keep up. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've already received 2 packs of the paper pieces from <a href="https://www.duckadilly.com/" target="_blank">DuckaDilly Fabrics</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and can't wait to get a start... on..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the Pemberley EPP QAL</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIQ4-Nuxt3NZRbaHb9rIzJE4RNm2SGdMTnVZX0wX9sa-JgLXKoh6PydCqNZmPBWeOlLaPVorALjXsNMl6Gvxv2szV9T__fgGA0HhCfVf2AzOaYymZ6APjK6dUVWQ2ZtBhawIHq1tCETA/s1600/6month.pattern.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="469" data-original-width="404" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIQ4-Nuxt3NZRbaHb9rIzJE4RNm2SGdMTnVZX0wX9sa-JgLXKoh6PydCqNZmPBWeOlLaPVorALjXsNMl6Gvxv2szV9T__fgGA0HhCfVf2AzOaYymZ6APjK6dUVWQ2ZtBhawIHq1tCETA/s640/6month.pattern.JPG" width="551" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each month I'll receive the paper pieces for two of the blocks... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span><a name='more'></a></span><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">
this is one laid out and prepped to hand sew by @tincatsew</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
exerpt from @ave_and_neve 's post ....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
'<span face="-apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">We just love how </span><a class="notranslate" href="https://www.instagram.com/tincatsew/" style="background-color: white; border: 0px; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; text-decoration-line: none; vertical-align: baseline;">@tincatsew</a><span face="-apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"> has used the black stripe </span></div>

<span face="-apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #262626; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">throughout her blocks. It is so striking, don't you think? This is the Charlotte block.'</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU8eyEMAXaJcm9lSFi-pencwxBBfxKryHJxDx60ERTk47sOSaWdfWBQmyudkmCEDLc0F7Nz2tXAhhCec-FpxwHdbtoeosG6MlNNJP-RtZdXKYdvsrYKtBSUID3bVJEbAUyd9OgeIg1lA/s1600/AnN.pemb2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="557" data-original-width="547" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU8eyEMAXaJcm9lSFi-pencwxBBfxKryHJxDx60ERTk47sOSaWdfWBQmyudkmCEDLc0F7Nz2tXAhhCec-FpxwHdbtoeosG6MlNNJP-RtZdXKYdvsrYKtBSUID3bVJEbAUyd9OgeIg1lA/s640/AnN.pemb2.JPG" width="628" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm going to use my scraps and stash for all of this... all those tiny pieces will</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
be a great way to use up that massive scrap pile I have going.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So my plan is for this quilt to be lap size and very scrappy. I'm going to use low volumes for my background fabrics so its going to be great! The pattern packs are sitting there staring at me</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
from the cutting table.... I'll start pulling some fabrics together this week and try to bravely start by the end of the week! ♥</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The only EPP project I've ever made was the stocking in my previous post. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was really fun...and very relaxing to slowly sew on each piece usually at night while watching tv.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's also a great break from hand quilting.</div>

On the left is the EPP {english paper piecing} stocking.</div>

This is my first attempt at English Paper Piecing and I had great instructions from so many talented makers on insta ... Great tutorial videos and tips were given so it was really fun to learn this new technique and I'm so glad I did. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello All ♥</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been making good progress on the Little Miss Sawtooth QAL by </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Melanie of <a href="https://southerncharmquilts.com/blog/" target="_blank">Southern Charm Quilts</a> and hosted by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/havels_sewing/" target="_blank">Havel Sewing</a>. Melanie has created such a great pattern with excellent instructions that are so easy to follow along with. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Andrea's Heirlooms (@andes_heirlooms) • Instagram photos and videos" height="640" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/74/e4/b7/74e4b71831862422bf7812a3eeb04cb7.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I even decided to make a small version for my new baby niece, Lily. I have it ready to start hand-quilting and can't wait to get it into the hoop. Before I can start on that though, I'm trying to finish hand-quilting my husbands' baseball tshirt memory quilt. That has been a labor of love over a few years. Seems like my WIPs just keep growing. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Andrea's Heirlooms (@andes_heirlooms) • Instagram photos and videos" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/62/2f/8f/622f8fa4809301080377490b755cfda4.jpg" /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am continuing to work along with the pattern releases every two weeks for my little miss sawtooth quilt; then suddenly inspiration hit to start another LMS for another 'someone special', my Mom. She seemed to especially love one of the blocks I recently made using pale lavender and turquoise so I'm going to dig into my stash and see what fabrics I can pull and try to catch up all the blocks for her quilt by this weekend, when the latest block patterns for the sew along will release. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That will be so fun! </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
have a lovely week of creating!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started a new quilt...yes, another WIP (work in progress).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This one is the Homesteader's Daughter. I changed up a few things with the pattern to make it have a little more scrappy feel... I'm pulling together various prints for the nine patches and snowball blocks that create the homesteaders daughter. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll be posting more about how I changed up the background fabrics too. I'm using a variety of low volumes for the background and its looking really awesome so far. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I've decided to close my 'big-cartel' shop and just utilize Etsy. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQfMifPUbgvnbBlTM3wBFunysvKlaZL7Fclc9N_VwSnUUixgWaccCXJMPN3QP89o7pUt37QmxUtYUTJBx-N4I6LTF6b7rh0staaDG5K-XhLc5MF7xblGw_FsOC1eqkF-lJKHz8n16EPQ/s1600/IMG_20190415_102635890.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQfMifPUbgvnbBlTM3wBFunysvKlaZL7Fclc9N_VwSnUUixgWaccCXJMPN3QP89o7pUt37QmxUtYUTJBx-N4I6LTF6b7rh0staaDG5K-XhLc5MF7xblGw_FsOC1eqkF-lJKHz8n16EPQ/s640/IMG_20190415_102635890.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's a much cheaper platform for me with the number of items that I have. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have not had any sales this year so it made sense to cut back on the fancy stuff. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm hoping there will be some advice given on my Instagram for new crafters/sellers. Some that does not include spending enormous amounts on ad placements and paying to get your items to show up closer to the top in search engines. I've tried that before with no success. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd-CTUgCmZ1fQpRwOpS6lBtphmTWU5_Prou1Fo8lmcLdRN-HAUbr03VO0ewPfCj9QyMfax2fg1CaPy_BNxxL8k8nRPgHqGjRgiNhniojXTTXn7fLwS-f7aZyH3j5OJOlFfbdu0fQjnUw/s1600/IMG_20190105_192647_782.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="640" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd-CTUgCmZ1fQpRwOpS6lBtphmTWU5_Prou1Fo8lmcLdRN-HAUbr03VO0ewPfCj9QyMfax2fg1CaPy_BNxxL8k8nRPgHqGjRgiNhniojXTTXn7fLwS-f7aZyH3j5OJOlFfbdu0fQjnUw/s640/IMG_20190105_192647_782.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think I'll be taking some time now to re-evaluate this path as it's not working out. There seems to be a big market for handmade cloth dolls and quilts but there's also a lot of makers already controlling that space. I feel like I'll be moving on to something else now but I've had lots of fun making these dolls and I love quilting. Sometimes its hard to realize that even though we are passionate about something, it doesn't always work out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you to my followers. I appreciate the encouragement.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
New in the shop today... my first MaidenBloom baby quilt. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is pieced with 100% cotton fabrics and has Warm & Natural cotton batting.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hand-quilted this with 100% cotton quilting thread.</div>

In the border I decided to quilt branches with leaves and quilted each square just along the seams. The binding is really neat....it has the tiniest sparkle...it is 100% cotton just blinged out! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm listing two new dolls in the shops today and working on a new collection for release at the end of the month. I finished a little Tilda bunny doll and its adorable. I love her pattern for Easter bunnies. It was super easy to make. I used her fabric, tiny blue star for this one and I just love the feel of 100% cotton fabric. The tiny blue stars are on a soft cream background and I think its perfect for this bunny. I'm going to be making some solid color bunnies soon for Easter baskets. Hope you'll find one you like. I used my Bunny Hill quilt top as a backdrop for a lot of the photos. I really love how this quilt top came together. I included some basic star blocks and simple 2" borders between the blocks and rows. I'm going to make a few more rows of star blocks to add to the top and bottom to increase the quilt size. It's going to be fun hand-quilting this.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll be working on a photo session and listing a couple new dolls this weekend. Hopefully by Sunday I'll have them all in the shops. I think the hardest thing is taking good pictures for the shops. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm also going to be listing a few wardrobe pieces for the dolls. All can be interchanged between the dolls and during my Instagram photo session I discovered that the little unicorn fairy really looks cute in a floral crown that I made for one of the other fairy girls.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hm, I think I need to make more of these little crowns. They look adorable on any of the dolls. I'll be working on some of those next, along with Baby Quilts. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've finally been sewing on some simple baby quilts. They will hold up well to washing and daily use. I still have the quilt that my great Grandmother made for me when i was a baby. Now it is a little tattered but I still love it so much.</div>
